Urban University 2026 Concludes Another Transformative Summer
Five Weeks of Learning, Growth, and Lasting Impact
The African American Youth Harvest Foundation proudly celebrates the conclusion of Urban University 2026, marking the end of five exciting weeks filled with discovery, creativity, and personal growth for the youth we serve.
This summer, participants engaged in enriching experiences including STEM activities, hands-on projects, educational workshops, field trips, and team-building opportunities that encouraged learning both inside and outside the classroom. Along the way, campers built new friendships, explored new interests, strengthened their confidence, and developed skills that will serve them well in the future.
One of this summer’s most significant accomplishments was the success of our workforce and technology readiness programming. Twenty-two youth earned industry-recognized Artificial Intelligence certifications, demonstrating a commitment to developing skills that are increasingly shaping the future of education, careers, and innovation.
Even more impressive, six participants achieved dual certifications in both Artificial Intelligence and Dell Student Tech Direct, providing them with valuable credentials that set them apart as they prepare for future academic and career opportunities.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the parents and guardians who entrusted us with their children this summer. We also applaud our incredible youth for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to challenge themselves throughout the program.
A special thank you goes to our dedicated Urban University staff, community partners, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters whose commitment, patience, and leadership made this experience possible.
Thank you to H-E-B Tournament of Champions, Life Anew Restorative Justice, SaulPaul Foundation, Women in Jazz, Makila Bee Sweet Lemonade, Frost Bank, First United Bank, Austin Community College, Austin Achieve Public Schools, Austin Fire Department, Austin Police Department Air Patrol, Judge Hernandez, Judge Mueller, Dell Technologies, Samsung, Casa de Miel, and the Algebra Project, made possible through the leadership and support of Shuronda Robinson.
(Manor, TX) The Urban University 2026 Graduation Ceremony brought together youth, families, and staff to recognize outstanding achievements and celebrate a summer filled with learning, leadership, and growth.

AAYHF Featured in National Report on AI and Nonprofit Leadership
African American Youth Harvest Foundation is proud to be featured as one of only four case studies in the national report, Building the Leadership Nonprofits Need to Make AI Work, developed by Board.Dev in collaboration with Dell Technologies.
AAYHF’s case study, A Retired CIO Brings Tech Governance to a Community Nonprofit, showcases how our organization is leveraging artificial intelligence to improve staff planning and operational decision-making, strengthen grant research and funding alignment, measure outcomes across services, and expand STEM, robotics, and AI-powered learning opportunities for youth.
“At this point in time, we can’t afford to be late on AI and we can’t be careless at the same time. The future belongs to organizations that pair innovation with governance.”
We also extend our deepest gratitude to Dell Technologies for their unwavering partnership and 15 years of support. This national recognition is not only a reflection of our work, but a testament to the power of long-term, mission-aligned partnerships that drive innovation and community impact.

Help Keep Our Food Pantries Strong
At the African American Youth Harvest Foundation, meeting the immediate needs of our families is at the heart of our mission. Our two food pantries play a vital role in that commitment.
Each week, we serve community members who rely on these resources to keep healthy meals on the table, especially during times of rising costs and ongoing hardship.
Our pantries depend on community generosity to stay stocked with fresh produce, non-perishable items, household essentials, and hygiene products. Every contribution, whether funding or volunteer time, directly impacts a family in need.
