KVUE Highlights Martin Luther King III’s Visit Honoring the African American Youth Harvest Foundation

KVUE featured Martin Luther King III’s visit recognizing the African American Youth Harvest Foundation and its longstanding service to youth, families, and communities in Central Texas.

The African American Youth Harvest Foundation was featured by KVUE in a community news segment highlighting a special visit from Martin Luther King III and the Foundation’s ongoing impact in Austin.

The segment focused on AAYHF’s work as a community-based nonprofit serving youth and families through culturally competent, family-centered programs. The feature connects to a milestone moment for the organization: Martin Luther King III’s recognition of AAYHF’s service and its commitment to advancing a “Beloved Community” model rooted in justice, compassion, equity, and collective responsibility. AAYHF’s own materials note that the visit was connected to honoring more than 20 years of service and the organization’s work in education, trauma recovery, mental health, mentorship, workforce development, and wraparound support.

This recognition reflects the Foundation’s mission to strengthen youth, families, and communities throughout Greater Austin. AAYHF’s programs are designed to improve access to educational, health, human services, and economic development opportunities, while supporting young people and families on a path toward stability, self-sufficiency, and long-term success.

We are grateful to KVUE for helping share this important community story and for spotlighting the continued work of the African American Youth Harvest Foundation.
